Neelamalai Winter Black. A high-altitude winter-harvested and hand-picked black tea from India’s Nilgiri Mountains. This lightly-oxidized black tea is bright with a very bold tangy flavor, but has a mild and smooth golden red liquor. Refreshing with a cooling aftertaste. Aromas have notes of bergamot orange and sweet-tart raspberries. Use 2.5 tsp (3g) per 7oz (200ml) of water, at 175F for 2 minutes. Gong Fu or Western brewing.

Origin: Nilgiris, India

About Our Tea Offerings

Tea measurements and water amount and temperatures vary, based on your personal preferences. We advise rinsing tea for a few seconds before the first infusion, at the same temperature as the brewed water. This softens the leaves for brewing. Filtered water, if possible. Use our brewing instructions only as guidelines. Your preferences are the most important.

Most of our teas are organic, but some are not Certified Organic. Our tea descriptions will let you know which of them carry the USDA Certified Organic label. Importantly, know that we support and work directly with conscientious, small independent farmers.
