General brewing instructions: 3g of leaves per 7oz (200ml) of water. Brew at 175F for 2 minutes. These green teas can be re-brewed up to 5 times using Gong Fu style.

Bright green and rich in aroma, a tea which in Japanese, literally means “stem tea.” Rather than the leaves being used, Kukicha is made from the stems of the tea plant. The flavor is sweet and grassy with fresh citrus notes and a hint of seaweed. It’s refreshing with no bitter aftertaste. This selection from Shizuoka, Japan is made with flavorful first-flush leaves, with the stems carefully separated during production. Use 2.5tsp (3g) of leaves per 7oz (200ml) of water. Brew at 175F for 1 minute (for very delicate, smooth, sweet creamy profile) or 2 minutes (for a grassy taste with a full, buttery texture and complex flavor. Gong Fu or Western style brewing.

About Our Tea Offerings

Tea measurements and water amount and temperatures vary, based on your personal preferences. We advise rinsing tea for a few seconds before the first infusion, at the same temperature as the brewed water. This softens the leaves for brewing. Filtered water, if possible. Use our brewing instructions only as guidelines. Your preferences are the most important.
