Matcha Midori [ceremonial grade]

$37.00

A small-batch, ceremonial-grade first- and second-Spring harvested matcha. Matcha Midori is an aged, grown-to-order blend using 7 different cultivars (varieties), from Shizuoka, Japan. This single-estate grower uses solar energy protects its delicate leaves from the sun, and relies on a traditional stone-mill which results in an ultrafine powder with a creamy texture. This matcha has a warm floral aroma with a full softly rich grassy profile. Creamy in texture, with a sweet tingling, lingering undertone. The slow grinding process makes for a very fine powder – for a smooth, creamy cup. Drink it straight in hot water or with milk. Add 1.7oz (50ml) of water to 1 tsp of matcha to make a paste. If desired, then add steamed milk.  Click to see our more detailed matcha brewing instructions page ».

About Our Tea Offerings

Tea measurements and water amount and temperatures vary, based on your personal preferences. We advise rinsing tea for a few seconds before the first infusion, at the same temperature as the brewed water. This softens the leaves for brewing. Filtered water, if possible. Use our brewing instructions only as guidelines. Your preferences are the most important.

Most of our teas are organic, but some are not Certified Organic. Our tea descriptions will let you know which of them carry the USDA Certified Organic label. Importantly, know that we support and work directly with conscientious, small independent farmers.
