From Shizuoka, Japan, comes a standard-grade matcha that aims to please. Tea leaves of the first and second spring harvest, combine the fine flavors of the first with the more robust flavors of the second harvest. A traditional stone-mill grinds the leaves into a fine powder. Don’t be fooled by its standard grade; it’s smooth and creamy … especially captivating for casual drinking and a perfect addition to smoothies, cakes, breads, and desserts. The taste is grassy and softly nutty, with an earthy undertone. A light umami (savory) flavor with a sweet aftertaste.

About Our Tea Offerings

Tea measurements and water amount and temperatures vary, based on your personal preferences. We advise rinsing tea for a few seconds before the first infusion, at the same temperature as the brewed water. This softens the leaves for brewing. Filtered water, if possible. Use our brewing instructions only as guidelines. Your preferences are the most important.

Most of our teas are organic, but some are not Certified Organic. Our tea descriptions will let you know which of them carry the USDA Certified Organic label. Importantly, know that we support and work directly with conscientious, small independent farmers.
